2017 Season Completed with Two Premierships
Bendigo Women’s Football Club is the leading provider of participation pathways for women’s football in central and northern Victoria.
The club committee, officials, coaches and player group is committed to providing a positive environment for girls and women that have the desire wish to develop their football skills and potentially play at the highest level within the AFL system.
The Club also encourages people that have the desire and skills to be a part of the player and game support team (assistant coaches, trainers, runners, boundary umpires, scorekeepers etc) to join us and contribute to our overall success.
For the 2018 football season, the Bendigo Women’s Football Club will field 2 teams;
Northern Football Netball League - Women's (NFNLW)
The BWFC “Thunder” team will be the sole regional Victorian team competing in the 7 x team competition.
We were premiers in 2017 and are looking forward to defending the cup in 2018.
The 2018 playing season will commenced on the 8th of April 2018.
Central Victorian Football League - Women's (CVFLW)
As a result of the unprecedented growth of female football, the AFL Goulbourn Murray and AFL Central Victoria leagues joined forces to launch a women’s senior League in 2017.
The Bendigo Women’s Football Club fielded a team in this league (an 8 x team competition) and were premiers at the end of a fantastic 2017 season.
In 2018 the league has taken the decision to "split" the league into 2 parts and we are now a part of the Central Victorian Football League which currently consists of 5 teams.
The competition will begin with a round robin tournament held in Rochester on Sunday 15th April with teams from Central Victoria and Goulburn Murray regions as a pre-season opportunity, with the official season beginning on Sunday 29th April.
